Gragg, Callie ·
m. Haun · 1867?-19?? ·
- Born: 28-Nov-1867? in North Carolina, probably Watauga County
- 28-Nov (year not stated) according to the "Book of Birthdays"
of Leola Smith Chrysler
- Nov-1869 according to the 1900 census
- Age 2 in the 1870 census, which would indicate a birth in 1867
- Daughter of John Gragg and Malinda Curtis
- Wife of James E. Haun
- I have found a couple sites on the internet that mention a woman named Callie
Gragg who also lived in Garfield, Whitman County, Washington, but it seems
to be a different woman. That Callie Gragg was the daughter of Hiram Gragg
(b. 15-Aug-1844 in Watauga County, North Carolina) and Mary E. Baird, who
arrived in Whitman County in 1878. That Callie (b. 22-May-1867, d. 17-Jan-1940)
married George Simpson of Garfield and had three children: Walter Simpson,
Ray Simpson, and Eula Simpson. It seems odd to have two women named Callie
Gragg moving from North Carolina to Garfield Washington, but if there is a
connection between them, I do not know what it is.
- Residences:
- Watauga County, North Carolina
- Johnson County, Tennessee, in 1880
- Garfield, Washington, near Colfax
- Elberton, Whitman County, Washington by 1900

- "THE VALLEY OF COUSINS. Valle Crucis is called the Valley of Cousins
because of the kinship between its inhabitants... Reuben Mast first lived
where David F. Baird now lives, but the place had been settled before
Mast went there. Reuben Mast sold it to John Gragg about 1849, and moved
to Texas, where he died. Gragg lived there till 1867 and sold to David
Wagner, and moved to Tennessee."

Gragg, William R. · 1865-19?? ·

- Also known as:
- Robie
- "Robie Gragg" is identified as the "younger brother
of Susan Pierce" on the back of a photograph from Colfax, Washington.
According to census records, Susan had two brothers, both younger:
Thomas C. Gragg and William R. Gragg. I have not been able to find
Robie Gragg in the Washington census, but I do find William R. Gragg.
Therefore, I believe that William R. Gragg and Robie are the same
person.
