OBITUARIES

NORBERT A. VOEGELE

Retired Lt. Col. Norbert Arthur Voegele, 67, died Dec. 7 at Elmendorf hospital.

Graveside services with full military honors will be 1 p.m. Friday at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Father Victor Tadeo will officiate. A reception will follow at the family home.

Mr. Voegele was born Feb. 18, 1926, in New York City, and was raised in Lancaster, N.Y. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lancaster and attended Ithaca College.

He came to Fort Richardson with the U.S. Army in 1967, retiring in 1970, with more than 23 years of active service. Mr. Voegele entered civil service and retired again from his post as housing manager at Fort Richardson. His favorite leisure activities were golf and swimming.

Mr. Voegele was preceded in death by a son, Walter, in 1980. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Anneliese of Eagle River; a son, Bruce of Taos, N.M.; a daughter, Karen Spencer of Wasilla; his mother, Mary of Buffalo, N.Y.; several grandchildren; and numerous relatives in Germany.

Arrangements were handled by Witzleben Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
