HEADLINE: QUEDIET CAREY, RAN LIQUOR STORE IN CUBA

Quediet Carey, 84, of Niagara Avenue, who with her husband owned and operated a Southern Tier liquor store and restaurant, died Tuesday (Aug. 20, 1996) at her home after a long illness.

Born in Niagara Falls, the former Quediet King attended local schools.

Together with her late husband, Kenneth W. Carey, Mrs. Carey owned and operated a liquor store in Cuba in Allegany County for eight years.

Before that, they owned and operated the New Central Hotel Restaurant in Olean in Cattaraugus County for 20 years.

She moved back to Niagara Falls in 1977 following the death of her husband.

Mrs. Carey is survived by a son, Paul E. Bailey, and a sister, Georgia L. Bloak. Private graveside services will be held Friday in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
