During the course of researching my Ott family history, I have had the good fortune to make contact with some distant cousins:

Tom Ott and His Sisters

Thomas P. Ott of Maryland found the genealogy database that I have placed on the Rootsweb WorldConnect site. That database is a stripped-down version of what can be found on this website. Tom found the entry for his father, Victor Ott, and attached a note to it. That led me to contact him. Tom and I exchanged more information about the Ott family, and Tom had his sisters Patricia and Virginia also contact me.

Tom and his sisters are my fourth cousins. Our common ancestors are John Ott and Mary Ann Meder. This is how Tom is descended from them:

• John Ott (1788-ca.1840's) and Mary Ann Meder (1789-ca.1860's)
  • George Ott (ca.1815-ca.1850's), m. Barbara Weissborn
    • Jacob Ott (1849-1915), m. Katharine Nuwer (1855-1931)
